The development of information and communication technology has had a positive impact on people's lives, particularly students, in accessing information and social media. However, this development has also given rise to the threat of cybercrime in the form of increasingly diverse online fraud. This study aims to analyze the forms and developments of online fraud targeting students and to identify preventive measures and legal protection for victims of online fraud. The research method used is a normative juridical approach with a statutory regulatory approach and literature review. The results indicate that students are a vulnerable group to online fraud due to their high social media usage, low digital literacy, and a lack of understanding regarding personal data security. Common fraud methods include phishing, fake accounts, online shopping fraud, gift fraud, and social engineering. Legal protection for victims is regulated in the Criminal Code (KUHP) and the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). Preventive efforts can be implemented through increasing digital literacy, legal education, monitoring social media use, and collaboration between schools, families, and the government. With ongoing education, it is hoped that students will be able to use digital media wisely and avoid various forms of online fraud.
