Abstract

The rapid development of social media has made it easier for people to access and spread information, including information related to legal cases. However, low digital legal literacy often causes people to share information without verification, leading to the phenomenon of trial by social media which may violate the principle of presumption of innocence. This Community Service activity was conducted at SMAN 2 Pandeglang on April 28, 2026, aiming to improve students’ understanding of the wise and responsible use of social media in accordance with legal provisions. The methods used included socialization, legal counseling, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions regarding digital legal literacy and the presumption of innocence. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of verifying information before sharing it on social media. This activity is expected to improve students’ digital legal awareness and encourage the creation of a healthier, safer, and more responsible digital environment.
