SOSIALISASI BAHAYA JUDI ONLINE SEBAGAI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN TINDAK PIDANA DI MASYARAKAT PADA SISWA SMKN 6 KOTA SERANG

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PKM) are one of the main pillars of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education that must be carried out by undergraduate (S1) students as part of completing their studies. This program is designed as a form of collaboration between lecturers and students to provide a tangible contribution in creating a safe and conducive community environment. This proposal specifically highlights the phenomenon of online gambling, which has shifted from merely a marginal form of entertainment into a national issue that damages the quality of life of society, especially students at SMKN 6 Kota Serang. This location was chosen because the students, as adolescents, are easily tempted by instant profits and possess economic vulnerabilities that are often exploited by online gambling platforms through promises of quick financial gain. The primary objective of this activity is to increase students’ legal awareness regarding the criminal consequences of gambling and to examine the manipulative mechanisms of online gambling algorithms that disadvantage players. From a juridical perspective, this socialization program will explain the criminal sanctions regulated under Law Number 1 of 2024 (the Second Amendment to the Electronic Information and Transactions Law/ITE Law) as well as Law Number 1 of 2023 (the National Criminal Code/KUHP). The urgency of this activity is also based on the increasing number of derivative crimes within the jurisdiction of Kota Serang, such as theft, fraud, and domestic violence triggered by addiction to slot gambling. The implementation method consists of a preparation stage involving the mapping of social vulnerabilities and an execution stage through participatory legal counseling and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The target group is focused on 20–50 students in order to break the chain of addiction from an early age. The expected outcome of this community service activity is the creation of synergy among students, school authorities, and community leaders to build collective resilience against cybercrime, thereby maintaining economic stability and social order in Kelurahan Pageragung.
