Abstract

Advances in information and communication technology have significantly impacted people's lives, particularly the use of social media. While these technological advances have created positive impacts, they have also given rise to various social issues, including cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is an act of intimidation carried out through digital channels such as social media, messaging apps, and other online platforms. This research seeks to examine the phenomenon of cyberbullying among adolescents, its causes, impacts, and prevention strategies. The research method used was a literature review, analyzing various freely accessible journals and scientific articles. The research results indicate that cyberbullying has negative consequences for victims' mental health, such as stress, depression, anxiety, fear, and loss of self-confidence. Some causes of cyberbullying include a lack of digital literacy, a lack of parental control, the influence of the social environment, and the anonymous nature of cyberspace. Preventing cyberbullying requires collaboration between families, educational institutions, the government, and the public through digital ethics education and the wise use of social media.
