The destruction of tourist forest areas is a violation that can damage the environment and reduce the function of forests as natural tourism areas. The Taktakan Hills area also faces various problems such as illegal logging, forest burning, and forest encroachment. This study aims to determine the application of criminal sanctions against perpetrators of tourist forest destruction and preventive efforts to prevent violations of Forestry Law in the Taktakan Hills area. The research method used is empirical juridical research using data obtained from literature studies and interviews. The results show that criminal sanctions have an important role in providing a deterrent effect on perpetrators of forest destruction. In addition, preventive efforts such as legal socialization, forest area supervision, and cooperation between the government and the community are needed to maintain the preservation of tourist forest areas. With proper law enforcement and preventive efforts, it is expected that damage to tourist forest areas in the Taktakan Hills can be minimized.
